How to Improve Safety by Providing a Clear Zone

There is a strategy of Roadside  Hazard Management by providing a “forgiving road”. Forgiving road has some functions, such as : 

               - it is possible to keep the vehicles on the road, it won’t be driven out from the road.

               - it can be driven easily without side slopes because of the drainage on the edge of the road 

               - it removes or relocates the roadside hazards 

               - it uses forgiving roadside equipments

               - the crash barrier can be placed only when it is really needed

               - it is well maintained

               - and it has a clear zone

Now, did you know about “Clear Zone” ?

it is a area on the edge of the road that should be kept clear from hazardous objects in order to minimize the danger of a collision when. Because we wouldn’t ever know surely when the vehicles start leaving the road. Basically a clear zone has no risk for the vehicles because the hazardous objects have been relocated.
